PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Virtual anime festival
On August 15 and 16, Otakuthon, Montreal’s own anime festival, will be holding an online, virtual “At Home” edition of their event this summer. While their physical event, which normally brings in over 25,000 people to the Palais des congrès de Montréal over a single weekend each year, was cancelled due to the pandemic, this year’s virtual event will feature some of the festival’s mainstay events such as concerts, panels, and guests. In addition, the festival will be bringing back favourites such as Masquerade and Otakuthon Idol, in a virtual manner. The full schedule of events will be available closer to the dates of the festival.
The event is set to run from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM each day and will feature a variety of guests from North America and Japan. There will also be a variety of exhibitors virtually present to help satisfy shoppers looking for anime goods or searching for that unique art piece. The platform being used for this event will allow attendees to privately chat with exhibitors but they will also be able to chat with other attendees on various topics involving anime and the Japanese culture.
Details on admission pricing for the 2-day event can be found at https://www.otakuthon.com/2020/en/.
Be sure to tune into the anime event of the summer - Otakuthon at Home on August 15th and 16th.
We look forward to seeing you there.
