Otakuthon is a non-profit organisation, which is run by fans of anime for other fans of anime. As such, all staff are volunteers (not paid) giving their time for a convention they believe in. Our staff position structure is described on our website.

Responsabilities

• Greet and assist attendees with a wide range of inquiries courteously and professionally.
• Provide accurate and timely information about the event, venue, and services.
• Distribute informational materials as needed.
• Manage the lost-and-found list and store found items securely.
• Help with the set-up and teardown of the information desks.

Requirements

• Fluently bilingual in spoken French and English.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Able to learn and memorize the venue’s information (Palais des congrès de Montréal) and the convention’s programming (such as rules, activities, events, and guests).
• Able to professionally interact with all staff members and attendees.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Experience in customer service, an asset.
• Good knowledge of Otakuthon, the Otakuthon vocabulary and/or the Japanese culture, an asset.

Additional Notes

Proficiency in any additional language, an asset.
