The first of its kind in Montreal, Otakuthon is a full-fledged, fan-run, bilingual anime convention that features a number of special guests as well as many activities and events spotlighting anime, manga, video games, artwork, and Japanese culture.

The Fashion Show is back this year with a whole new program; with a focus around the Japanese spirit of fashion! Experience a moment in the life of a top model walking on the catwalk. Like in previous years, the audience will be invited to come on stage to show off their fashions towards the end!

Fashion Show Auditions

Interested in being part of Otakuthon's Fashion Show?

This is your chance to participate! We are looking for cosplayers and models for the runway!

We are looking for:

  • Cosplayers
  • Models

For the following categories:

  • Lolita
  • Goth
  • Underground
  • Harajuku
  • Gyaru
  • Japanese street style
  • Visual kei
  • and any other fashion styles that you can suggest!

Feel free to invite your friends! Arigato gosaimasu!!

Your participation will count as volunteering time at the convention.  Participants will be responsible for preparing their own styles and costumes.

The participants may wear clothes which they made themselves, clothes which have been purchased or clothes which were made by someone else.

Audition Date: July 14, 2012 (9am to 12pm)

You have two options when participating in the auditions:

  • Dressing in the style of your chosen category
  • Provide us a picture of your costume or style idea

If you want to have background music:

  • Bring a CD
  • Give us the name of the song

For those who are not able to attend the auditions on Saturday July 14th, participants can still register during the convention on Sunday August 5th.  There will be a registration table for the Fashion Show that will be open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bring and wear your costume and we will determine if you are ready to take part in the show. Please note that the categories chosen after the auditions must be respected.
