Volunteer Recruiter (s)
Will assist the Volunteers Coordinator in recruiting volunteers for the
convention.
Information Agent
Will be responsible for sending out press releases concerning the
convention. Must have excellent writing skills in both English and French.
Must also be able to handle a large number of e-mails. Must be resourceful
and autonomous. Reports to the Communications coordinator.
Workshop and Panels assistant
Will be responsible for finding potential workshop ideas and panel experts
for the convention. Visits to the Japanese cultural center or other
relevant locations may be necessary. Reports to the Workshop and Panels
director.
Supplies and Logistics
Will be responsible for procuring and managing the flow of supplies and
equipment. Must be a Concordia student and able to deal with the
Concordia Student Union to order necessary supplies for the convention.
Must keep the Treasurer informed of expenses incurred and order/purchase
supplies as necessary. Reports to the Equipment coordinator.
Advertisement Distributor
Will be responsible for seeking out prospective locations to maximize
advertising of the convention. Will be also responsible for the
distribution of the materials and obtaining of the permission for such
advertising from the responsible parties. Reports to the Communications
coordinator.
English and French Writers
Will be responsible for providing write-ups for publications. Knowledge
of anime and the anime community is required. Must have excellent writing
skills in either English or French. Must be able to work in a team.
Reports to the Communications coordinator.
Design Assistant
Will be responsible for assisting in design of publications. Knowledge of
Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe InDesign required. Experience in
creating floor plans and page layouts is a plus. Must be able to work in a
team. Reports to the Communications coordinator.
Guest Liaison(s)
Will be responsible for preparing accommodations for all guests. Must
ensure the well-being and comfort of guests at all times. Previous
experience as a guest liaison or in customer service is an asset.
Reports to the Guests coordinator.
Screening Room Monitors
Will be responsible for surveillance of screening rooms and enforcing
screening room rules. Will also be responsible for switching of media and
security of screening equipment. Reports to the Programming coordinator.
Anime DJ
Will be responsible for selecting and playing music and hosting in a D.J.
capacity at the dance party. Must be familiar with a wide variety of
Japanese songs and genres, including but not limited to songs from current
anime series to J-Pop and J-Rock. Reports to the Live Events coordinator.
Photographers
Will be responsible for taking documentary photos. Must be completely
available on the day of the convention. Will be also responsible for
having participants complete model release forms. Experience with
photography, lighting and models is a plus. Reports to the Live Events
coordinator.
Video Camera Crew
Will be responsible for producing video footage. Must be completely
available on the day of the convention. Reports to the Live Events
coordinator.
Video Director
Will be responsible for camera crews. Will also be responsible for
training the camera crew and managing them. Must be completely available
on the day of the convention. Reports to the Live Events coordinator.
Video Editor
Will be responsible for video documentaries and productions such as the
masquerade DVD. Education, training, or experience in any of the
following fields is a definite asset: cinema, film, video or animation.
Must provide samples of past works. Reports to the Live Events
coordinator.
Sound Technician
Will be responsible for audio setups. Responsibilities include management
of audio equipment and supporting the staff with knowledge and experience.
Reports to the Live Events coordinator.
Lighting Technician
Will be responsible for handling lighting setups. Responsibilities
include management of lighting equipment and supporting the staff with
knowledge and experience. Reports to the Live Events coordinator.
