Over 150 musicians and an epic symphony dedicated to Zelda: A Link To The Past
On August 18th 2019, the Orchestre de jeux video (OJV) will be presenting a concert dedicated one of the greatest video game franchise of all time, The Legend of Zelda.
The first part of the concert will take the audience on a journey through some of the most popular titles of the franchise, such as Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Wind Waker and the franchise’s latest game, Breath of the Wild. The second part of the concert will feature the creation of a 35 minutes long symphony inspired by the beloved A Link To The Past episode of the franchise, published in 1991 on the Super Nintendo gaming system. For the occasion, the 65 musicians of the orchestra will be joined by over 100 singers from the Petits chanteurs de Laval and Choeur des jeunes de Laval choirs.
This incredible musical and artistic experience with more than 150 performers on stage will be accompanied by synchronized lighting professionally conceived, which will take place in one of most acclaimed concert halls on the city.
Conducted by maestro Jonathan Dagenais, Montreal’s Orchestre de jeux vidéo is a wind orchestra composed of over 60 musicians who share a passion for video game music. Since 2008, this ensemble has transformed the traditional concert experience, bringing it to a whole new level where geek culture and orchestral music meet.
The concert will be held on Sunday, August 18th at 1 pm in Main Events 210B.
