Video Game Rooms

Would you like to play some video games? Then there will be plenty of that at Otakuthon in our video game rooms. A large selection of both domestic and import video games will be available for freeplay. We will have all the major systems available including (BUT not limited to): Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameCube, etc. Gamers are invited to BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller) if you wish to bring in and use your own controllers.

There will also be a room set aside for those who want to bring their favorite handheld game system (e.g. Nintendo DS) and find other gamers to play with.

Video Game Tournaments

For those who want to satisfy their competitive instincts, there will be some video game tournaments organized where participants could compete against each other and win some cool prizes and, more importantly, bragging rights!

The tournament games for this year are:

• Super Smash Brothers Melee (GameCube)
• Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 (GameCube)
• Guilty Gear XX Slash (PlayStation 2)
• Tetris DS (Nintendo DS)

GO and Shogi Room

If video games aren't your style, there will be a GO and Shogi room organized where people could play or ask how to play these traditional Japanese board games.

Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Freeplay & Tournament

No gaming program will be complete without the popular DDR game, which will be bigger and better than last year, and will run for the whole weekend!

There will also be a DDR tournament organized for those who want to show off their dance moves in a competition.
